Ahart Acres Amos ~ Owned by Ahart Acres (Lebanon, Oregon) ~ DOB: 03-08-15 ~ DOLP: 04-27-15 |
Judge's comments: This wether is well deserving of a first place ribbon. I would love to see some competition for this little guy in his class. He stands correct on his legs, and is smooth and balanced throughout. I appreciate his length of loin given his young age. Exhibits nice spring of rib and good wide chest floor. Correctly sloping rump and showing good muscling throughout. Nice myotonic headset and ears correct. Super example of a myotonic wether! |
Class 2 - Jr. Wethers: 3 to under 6 months

Rising S Rebel ~ Owned by Rising S Ranch (Ogden, UT) ~ DOB: 03-27-15 ~ DOLP: 09-01-15 |
Judge's comments: The black first place wether has a nice wide brisket and more width over the rack. If I could change anything I would like to see a less severely steep rump on him. |

Pete n Jane's Victor ~ Owned by Pete n Jane's Fainting Goats (Sparland, Illinois) ~ DOB: 04-08-15 ~ DOLP: 08-09-15 |
Judge's comments: The second place black and white wether is harder to judge by a photo. It would be nice to get a better view of his rear legs. I appreciate his length of body and correctness of myotonic facial features. |
Class 3 - Jr. Wethers: 6 to under 9 months - No entries
Class 4 - Jr. Wethers: 9 to under 12 months

Bucking Adoeable Joe DiMaggio ~ Owned by Bucking Adoeable Fainters (Ramona, CA) ~ DOB: 11-24-14 ~ DOLP: 09-06-15 |
Judge's comments: This wether is nicely balanced and smoothly blended from shoulder into the body. I would like to see less steepness in the rump and more correct ear setting for myotonic features. |
Junior Champion & Reserve Junior Champion Wether
Champion will be selected from the 1st place winners of classes 1-4. Reserve Champion will be selected from
the remaining 1st place winners and the animal standing 2nd in the class from which the Champion was selected.

Judge's comments: Junior Champion Wether goes to youngest, but most correct wether in the show, our single entry in 0-3 month class. I find it hard to fault this little guy on anything at this point in his development. Looking forward to seeing how he turns out. |
Judge's comments: Reserve Junior Champion wether goes to entry #2 from class 2 (black wether). Overall nice wether, but not as smooth and well blended as younger champ wether. |

Spin River Meadows Henri Matisse ~ Owned by Spin River Meadows (Salem, OR) ~ DOB: 11-23-13 ~ DOLP: 05-23-15 |
Judge's comments: I really appreciate the muscling that this goat shows. Nice wide chest floor and neck that blends in smoothly thru the shoulder. Nice topline. If I could improve anything I would like to see less steepness towards the rump.

Triple-T Baton Rouge ~ Owned by Courtney Teichert (Ramona, CA) ~ DOB: 02-28-14 ~ DOLP: 08-23-15 |
Judge's comments: Not as well balanced overall as the goat placed ahead of him. Still has good width of barrel and spring of rib. Would like to see a straighter topline. |

Bucking Adoeable Ranger ~ Owned by Bucking Adoeable Fainters (Ramona, CA) ~ DOB: 02-23-14 ~ DOLP: 09-06-15 |
Judge's comments: Overpowered by the goats placed ahead of him in this line up today. More of a feminine body style than 1st and 2nd place goats. Can appreciate his horn set and correct myotonic facial features. |
Class 6 - Two Year Old Wethers: 24 to under 36 months
Entry #1 ~ Points Earned = 0.5

Triple-T Captain ~ Owned by Spin River Meadows (Salem, OR) ~ DOB: 06-02-12 ~ DOLP: 08-27-15 |
Judge's comments: Larger sized myotonic but at this age I would consider this wether overconditioned and would have to discount him on that. He does exhibit a lot of power in thru the chest especially on the front view. Would like to see more length and less width in this goat. Hard to judge the width between the horn base but appears to be ok at this time but may be a problem as he ages. More concerned with the horn tips being turned upward and this being more of a fault in that area. I do appreciate given his overconditioning that at this time his pasterns appear good but would caution to watch those as he ages with the excess weight on him. |
Class 7 - Three Years Old Wethers: 36 to under 48 months

Triple-T Centurion ~ Owned by Bucking Adoeable Fainters (Ramona, CA) ~ DOB: 12-16-11 ~ DOLP: 09-06-15 |
Judge's comments: Can really appreciate the length of body on this wether and longer length of loin that we should be selecting for if we are breeding for market wethers especially. Nice straight topline as well. Would like to see a better myotonic ear on this goat as it is too pendulous falling towards front of face more than I would like to see. |

|
Triple-T Bubba ~ Owned by Courtney Teichert (Ramona, CA) ~ DOB: 02-01-12 ~ DOLP: 08-23-15 |
Judge's comments: Not as smoothly blended as the first place goat. He lacks in length of loin and body compared to the 1st place goat and he is not as wide and full through the chest and barrel. Do appreciate his head features and ear set. |
Class 8 - Four Years Old & Older Wethers: 48 months & over
Entry #1 ~ Points Earned = 1.0

|
Bell's Goats Mr. Hopeful ~ Owned by Yama Goats (Ogden, UT) ~ DOB: 04-14-11 ~ DOLP: 08-30-15 |
Judge's comments: As wethers age, it gets a bit harder to judge them because for meat goat purposes, they are past their prime although not as far as pets and companions. Although it appears in photos that Entry 1 has less meat about him, there are more qualities about him that stand correct than Entry 2. Entry 1 stands on a better set of feet and legs, more correct pasterns than Entry 2. |
Entry #2 ~ Points Earned = 0.5

|
Shakey Acres Peyton ~ Owned by Yama Goats (Ogden, UT) ~ DOB: 03-16-11 ~ DOLP: 08-30-15 |
Judge's comments: Entry 2 has some splaying out of the front hooves and is down on the front pasterns. |
Senior Champion & Reserve Senior Champion Wether
