I was a member of 4-H when I was a child, and grew up with horses, and many other animals. I became a 4-H leader when my children were old enough to join 4-H, and have been a leader over 20 years. I have also stayed involved with the local FFA group and hold an honorary FFA Chapter degree. I have been raising goats for 25 years, starting with Alpine dairy goats, showing, cheese making and soap making, when my children were in 4-H and FFA. We then began to raise Boer goats. My children raised them for meat production and show. After the children were out of school, I started raising Fainters just for me.

We, now want to start a youth group connected to our new Fainting Goat Guild.  We feel we have enough experience to do this efficiently and properly.

We would like to encourage both youth and their parents or guardians to join the Fainting Goat Guild, keeping our goals in mind while breeding and raising their goats.

Growing up, we raised a little of everything...horses, goats, pigs, cows, rabbits, turkeys, chickens, geese, birds, dogs, cats...you name it, we probably had it at some point. I became a member of 4-H in High School and spent many years showing horses. I spent the first 10 years of my career as a veterinary technician before going to graduate school.

After getting married and having two young children, a horse accident convinced me that I needed to find a smaller hobby. With that life changing decision, I discovered the wonderful world of the Fainting Goat. My family and I have been raising Fainters for 4 years and have become very active in showing them.

Our desire was to start a youth group through the Fainting Goat Guild that was open to everyone, no matter where you lived, without a membership fee. We want you to come and have fun, all the while learning all about the Fainting Goat.
